Cookie Policy

Last updated: [DATE] (draft, pending legal review)

This reflects the site as built today: the cookie card is live and functional, but nothing non-essential actually loads yet, no analytics, no ad pixels, no third-party embeds. This page will be updated the moment that changes, since under UK PECR the policy has to describe what actually runs, not what's planned.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Some are essential for the site to work; others help us understand how it's used, or support features like embedded booking widgets.

What we currently use

Right now, only one thing is stored: your own cookie preference. When you choose Accept all, Reject all, or save custom settings from the cookie card, that decision gets saved in your browser's local storage so we don't ask again for 12 months. That's essential storage, it's what lets us remember your answer at all, not something you're being asked to consent to. Beyond that, nothing loads: no analytics, no advertising or tracking technology, no third-party embeds.

The Analytics and Marketing categories exist in the cookie card because the mechanism is built and ready for them, not because anything is using them yet.

What will change, and when

When we add anything non-essential, most likely website analytics or an embedded booking tool such as Calendly (which sets its own cookies), the following will happen before it goes live:

The record of your choice lives in browser local storage rather than a traditional cookie. It holds your decision for each category, its date, and expires after 12 months, and is re-requested if this policy changes materially. UK regulations treat local storage the same as cookies for consent purposes, which is why we describe it here.

Essential vs non-essential

Essential storage doesn't require your consent, because the site can't work properly without it. Right now that's just remembering your own cookie preference.

Analytics and marketing storage will only ever be set after you actively opt into that specific category, from the cookie card or by reopening it via "Cookie settings" in the footer, and you can change your mind at any time.
